Mobile Provided Identity Authentication on the Web

چکیده
Introduction One of the key elements to improve the user experience on the Web is the enhancement of the user security, however not compromising the usability of the solutions. In that sense, the take-off of the mobile Internet, with users always carrying (in a way that was only equaled previously by keys, watches or wallets) a personal device, i.e., the mobile phone, equipped with a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card leads to a natural consequence: it is possible to take advantage of the two-factor authentication mechanisms supported by the SIM card, for example, using the mechanisms of the Generic Authentication Architecture/Generic Bootstrapping Architecture (GAA/GBA).

Strong Authentication for Web Services with Mobile Universal Identity
To access services on the Web, users need quite often to have accounts, i.e. user names and passwords. This becomes a problem when the number of accounts keeps increasing at the same time password is a very weak form of authentication exposing the users to fraud and abuses. To address both mentioned issues we propose a Mobile Universal identity, which by combining Internet identifiers with mobi...
متن کاملHow to authenticate mobile devices in a web environment - the SIM-ID approach
With the advent of the iPhone AppStore and Google Play, the ’walled garden’ approach of telecommunication companies to supply content to their customers using standard GSM/UMTS/LTE authentication has failed: Neither Google nor Apple, nor any other content provider on the mobile internet, uses the SIM card for authentication. This is mainly due to the fact that mobile telecommunication and inter...
متن کاملWeb Authentication using Graphical Virtual Environment
Authentication has become integral part of 90% of web sites. The major issue in web authentication is the limitation of human memory to remember the password string for longer period. Almost all websites are still using traditional recall-based textual password to identify their remote users. Vulnerability of this authentication mechanism due to the sophistication of online identity theft has l...
متن کاملEnhancing E-commerce Security Using GSM Authentication
Today, e-commerce transactions are typically protected using SSL/TLS. However, there are risks in such use of SSL/TLS, notably threats arising from the fact that information is stored in clear at the end point of the communication link and the lack of user authentication. Although SSL/TLS does offer the latter, it is optional and usually omitted since users typically do not have the necessary a...
متن کاملA Multi-Factor Security Protocol for Wireless Payment - Secure Web Authentication using Mobile Devices
Previous Web access authentication systems often use either the Web or the Mobile channel individually to confirm the claimed identity of the remote user. This paper proposes a new protocol using multifactor authentication system that is both secure and highly usable. It uses a novel approach based on Transaction Identification Code and SMS to enforce extra security level with the traditional L...
